Personal Development
Character and Values
At Ascot Road Primary School, personal development is an integral part of our curriculum and wider school experience. We are committed to developing the whole child and ensuring that every pupil has opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally and personally.
Our approach is underpinned by our school values of Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Responsibility and Fairness, with Belonging at the heart of our school community.
Through a broad range of experiences, leadership opportunities, targeted support, enrichment and wider opportunities, we aim to develop confident, responsible, resilient and compassionate young people who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and for life beyond school.

Our personal development offer is rooted in our school values and our commitment to developing pupils' character.
Character Education
Our Character Education programme helps pupils develop the attitudes, behaviours and personal qualities that will support them throughout their lives. Children explore what it means to demonstrate our school values in practice and are encouraged to develop qualities such as resilience, empathy, independence, integrity, confidence and responsibility.
Character Education also provides opportunities for pupils to reflect on their choices, understand the impact they have on others and recognise the positive contribution they can make to their school and wider community.
